Truffle
The last few weeks we have been puppy sitting for Justin's parents' dog, Truffle. (Well ~ at 12 years old he is not really a puppy, but a tiny little guy none the less.)
Indy was not phased at all ~ he did live with Truffle for the first 2 years of his life, after all, but I'm sure another dog or cat would be a different story. 4 days left, pup!
The last couple of days have been somewhat grumpy ones. I finally finished painting the crib, after weeks of working on it off & on applying 5 coats of paint, only to discover that it is missing a few important pieces & so we probably won't be able to use it after all! The price is not really an issue ~ we bought it cheap and I've already marked a few cheap replacements on Craigslist ~ but I am very upset that all of that painting time was wasted and I will probably want to spend time to paint the new one as well. The baby will be sleeping in a bassinet in our room for the first few months, so there is time to get a new crib ready, but I was just so happy for it to finally be done! Never trust 'all pieces included'...
And then this morning I woke up with the worst pulled muscle in my neck that I have ever had. If I lean or turn to far to the right I am yelping out in pain, and occasionally the muscle likes to just spasm on its own & cause intense pain regardless of my movements. I really wanted to skip my weekly doctor's appointment at 8:30 this morning, but I was able to finish up all of my work pretty quickly and we don't have any plans tonight so that I can sit around with a heating pad tied to my neck. Here's hoping tomorrow will be a good one!

Felineapple
We picked up some fruit for a get together the other weekend, and as we were cutting everything up Justin asked if I wanted to make an arrangement or anything with the empty pineapple shell. Well, no, but I was interested in turning it into some sort of weird animal.
I was planning on using some of the pineapple core for a trunk-like nose, but barely had enough for the stubby legs. One thing led to another and I soon had a "Felineapple" on my hands.
We also picked up an "ugly fruit", and almost forgot to open it up before everyone left. Though the outside may look a bit scary (and about the size of a grapefruit), the inside has wedges & a flavor very much like an orange. They are so juicy, though, you may want to eat it over the sink!

Tranquil golfing ambigrams
These four ambigram were all ordered by a golfing company ~ the same one to order this "Birdie" ambigram a while back. I guessing these are the names of some of their upcoming merchandise, but am not really sure how they are planning on using them. I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Surprise!
The ladies at church had a surprise shower for us last week. I had no idea what they were scheming, but Justin was in on the whole thing! The decorations were so cute ~ they had Justin send a photo of the fabric I used to make the curtains and our cupcake star made some adorable robot treats ~
They also found robot stickers for the tablecloth & picked out plates & napkins based on the colors we are painting the crib & changing table (almost finished, I promise!). No detail overlooked!
And the sweetest of all ~ the ladies pooled together some money to help us out with our deductible & remaining supplies. And it was definitely a big help!! We added our earlier gifts cards & were able to get all of the big items left on our list. After all of the second-hand items we bought early on, I feel so fortunate to be the owner of these wonderful modern prints (swing, bouncer, playard/playpen & diaper bag)~
Oh the cuteness!!
